Bible Study for Children on Fighting

If you're anything like me, you don't enjoy hearing your children fight and argue. This morning I read James 4:1 and decided to write a brief Bible study for my children to do on this topic. This is not extensive by any means but something that I thought they could do in their morning devotions. Maybe you can use it in your home too!

Fear Not Tomorrow

Fear not tomorrow

"What is your biggest fear?" my husband asked one night. I was taken off guard because I don't consider myself a fearful person. But his question forced me to think.

2013 Year in Review

As 2013 comes to a close, I reflect on all the ways God has blessed our family this past year. He has worked in ways we couldn’t have before imagined. Our biggest blessing was the healthy birth of little Andrew in July! This little guy has brought great joy into our lives and is a testimony of God’s grace to us.

3 Reasons for Smiling in the Rain

It’s raining today and dreary outside, but I’m smiling anyway! Three reasons I can rejoice today:

1. Chemo is in the past.

Sixteen months ago I received my last dose of chemo drugs. I'm so glad it's over. If you've been through it, you know what I mean. And if you haven't, you can imagine.

Cranberry Broccoli Slaw

I just have to share my latest favorite with you. It's one of those salads that I wouldn't have typically tried. But when a friend introduced me to a recipe that used broccoli slaw, spinach, and chicken, I started searching for some vegetarian recipes using broccoli slaw.

Broccoli is known to be an excellent cancer-fighting food. Among the cruciferous vegetables (think cauliflower, cabbage, kale), broccoli has the highest amount of sulforaphane.
